Bayridge Park – This park features a softball field, basketball court and new playground area; fields and courts can be reserved for team practices. Off FM 1266 on Mariner Drive
Countryside Park – The park can be reserved for company picnics, family gatherings, tournaments, and team practices. The park consists of two softball fields, one soccer/football field, sports pavilion (basketball, volleyball), and numerous picnic areas and playgrounds along the nature/fitness trail. Nestled along the banks of Clear Creek, this park is a great place for a family picnic and fishing. 3.5 miles west of Interstate 45 and north of FM 518 at 100 Alderwood
League Park – The park can be reserved for birthday parties, weddings, etc. With a turn-of-the-century theme, League Park features a bandstand (gazebo), two basketball courts, picnic areas, benches, playground equipment, and exercise stations. FM 518 (Main Street) at Park Avenue, 1.5 miles east of Interstate 45
Myrtle Park – This tract, consisting of 48 acres, will be under construction some time in the near future. On Clear Creek near Clear Creek Village
Nature Park – There is a hidden site located on this property and bird-watching and nature walks are planned when the park is opened in the near future. Located off of FM 270
Rustic Oaks – This park features a small pavilion, volleyball courts, tennis courts and a practice field, fishing pond, trails, playground equipment, and bird viewing areas. West on Main Street in League City, three miles from Interstate 45, left on Bay Area Boulevard into the Rustic Oaks Subdivision, left on Orange Blossom
Sportsplex – This new sports complex can be utilized for football, soccer, baseball, softball and volleyball and features multi-use fields and three pavilions for organized sports. 1251 Highway 96 and Interstate 45 at the Calder Road exit

Helen’s Garden – The birdhouses, waterfall, lovely flowers and a peaceful atmosphere appeal to most any visitor. The gardens are beautifully manicured by the League City Garden Club and the Parks Department. This is a beautiful spot for a wedding. Under the oaks on FM 518 (Main Street) in the 700 block of East Main at Kansas, (281) 554-1000.
County Parks
Walter Hall Park – This community park includes baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, inside pavilion, picnic areas, playground, practice backstops, a boat ramp and pier. 807 Highway 3 North in League City, (281) 316-2777
Elva Lobit Park – The park includes baseball, football and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts, picnic areas, and playground. 1901 East FM 646 in League City, (281) 934-8100
Transportation
Residents in the League City/Houston Bay Area have convenient access to interstate and major U.S. highways throughout the entire Houston metropolitan area. Interstate 45 passes through the center of League City, giving access to other transportation routes such as Interstate 10, Highway 59, and Highway 290. These highways connect to three concentric loop expressways around Houston.
Loop 610 is a 38.3-mile roadway at a radius of six miles from the Houston central business district.
Sam Houston Parkway (Beltway 8) is an 88-mile road at a 12-mile radius; and State Highway 99 (Grand Parkway) is a 172-mile expressway under construction, at a radius of 25 to 30 miles.
The Grand Parkway’s southeast corridor includes a probable alignment with FM 646 in League City.
Helen Hall Library
The busiest library in Galveston County, the book collection consists of over 179,536 items and 250 magazine subscriptions. Circulation and reference services are computerized. In addition to a wide variety of materials for patrons ranging from toddlers to seniors, the library offers many special collections and services such as summer reading clubs; story times; Braille materials for children; non-circulating collection of books, manuscripts and records pertaining to the history of League City and Galveston County; talking books; large-print books, play scripts, music compact discs, VHS and DVD movies, e-books; public Internet use; paperback exchange shelf; and much more.
